Some people look to themselves and the value of their work for justification with God. They think they have made themselves more deserving by their work. Others recognize their need for God’s grace and mercy. So they look to God, not themselves. They realize that salvation is never deserved. It is by the grace of God. "So the last shall be first, and the first last."
