These two parables, the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl of Great Price, are similar and seem to belong together. In each story, a man finds something of great worth—the first perhaps by chance, and the second as the result of a long and constant search. In both parables men recognize the value of their discovery and gladly give up everything they own in order to gain the object of their devotion.
