2023 Spiritual Theme
More Holiness Give Me
Key Scriptures
“As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy’” (1 Pet. 1:14-16).
“Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God” (2 Cor. 7:1).
“Put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness” (Eph. 4:24).
Purpose and Aim of the Theme
The title of our theme for 2023 is taken from the opening words of the beautiful hymn, “More Holiness Give Me.” The hymn concludes with the prayer, “More blessed and holy, more, Savior, like thee.”
Sermons on the Theme
Each month we will share a lesson on the theme. During the first half of the year, the lessons focus on the holiness of God and what he has made holy. The second half we will consider the pursuit of holiness in our lives. We pray that these lessons will help us as we strive be holy, as our God is holy. May we use these opportunities to invite others to worship and serve our holy God. Please mark the dates.
